Perched on a hill overlooking the Tenna Valley, Rapagnano is a harmonious village where history, landscape, and daily life blend in natural balance. The historic center, compact and well preserved, retains its medieval towers, walls, and gates that lead to Piazza Siccone, the heart of the town. Overlooking the square are the Town Hall, the Church of Sant’Antonio with its permanent Nativity scene, the Church of the Suffragio, and several noble palaces that reflect the local tradition. The Parish Church of St. John the Baptist houses frescoes by Attilio Tentoni and the relic of the Saint’s right hand, preserved in a finely crafted silver reliquary. In the rooms above the sacristy lies the Parish Museum, which preserves three 16th-century altarpieces by Filippo Ricci and Carlo Ridolfi, as well as a 17th-century Madonna and Child by Carlo Maratta — a testament to the village’s rich artistic and spiritual heritage. Authentic and welcoming, Rapagnano is a place where time flows slowly, among art, devotion, and landscape.
